NOTE: I DO NOT ENDORSE! I simply make RECOMMENDATIONS, looking for the BEST or sometimes the BETTER of the CANDIDATES of those available. Sometimes, I even RECOMMEND with RELUCTANCE, knowing SOMEONE is going to win, and one candidate’s political philosophy might tilt slightly better than another. If I’m not able to determine ANY positive tilt or have inadequate info, I may just state, “NONE”.

CA STATE
GOVERNMENT
CA GOVERNOR
Recommendation: TBA
COMMENTS:
Currently there is a crowded field of 10 candidates, in the “viable” parties, for CA Governor (8 Dems, 2 Rep). No Dem candidate earned enough votes for DEM endorsement at Feb Convention. Appeals by CA DEM chairman for some D’s to drop out, so far, has fell on “deaf ears”. They are:
Xavier Becerra, Democrat, former U.S. Health and Human Services secretary and former California Attorney General
Matt Mahan, Democrat, mayor of San Jose
Katie Porter, Democrat, former U.S. representative representing Orange County
Tom Steyer, Democrat, billionaire entrepreneur and former presidential candidate
Eric Swalwell, Democrat, U.S. representative from the Bay Area
Tony Thurmond, Democrat, state superintendent of public instruction
Antonio Villaraigosa, Democrat, former mayor of Los Angeles and former Assembly Speaker
Betty Yee, Democrat, former state Controller
The 2 VIABLE Republican candidates that lead in polls are STEVE HILTON & CHAD BIANCO. Potential to both be on Nov ballot if votes stay split for DEMOCRATS.
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR
Recommendation: TBA
COMMENTS:
Currently there are 9 candidates (in the “viable” parties) for CA LT Governor (6 Dems, 3 Rep). The Dems are:
Janelle Kellman, former mayor of Sausalito and founder of The Center for Sea Rise Solutions[4]
Fiona Ma, California State Treasurer (2019–present) (previously ran for governor)[5]
Oliver Ma, civil rights attorney, immigrant and tenant rights advocate[6]
Tim Myers, musician and record producer (previously ran for CA-41)[7]
Michael Tubbs, former mayor of Stockton (2017–2021)[8]
Josh Fryday, chief service officer for governor Gavin Newsom and former mayor of Novato[3]
Republicans are:
David Fennell, entrepreneur and candidate for lieutenant governor in 2018 and 2022[10]
Gloria Romero, former Dem & Dem majority leader of the California Senate (2005–2008) from the 24th district (2001–2010)[11]
Brian Jones, California State Senate, representing District 40. Prev, a CA Assemblyman.
SECRETARY OF STATE
Recommendation: DON WAGNER
COMMENTS: Republican Wagner, is current OC Supervisor and is running against incumbent DEM, Shirley Weber. More to follow

ca aSSEMBLY
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 59th Dist
(Covers portions of Orange and San Bernardino counties and includes all or parts of the cities of Anaheim Hills, Brea, Chino, Chino Hills, Fullerton, North Tustin, Orange, Placentia, Villa Park, and Yorba Linda.
Recommendation: PHILLIP CHEN (R)
Comments (previous): Endorsed by OC Republican Party (OC GOP). An incumbent doing as good as could be expected, being the minority party, with a DEM majority Trifecta in all 3 CA branches of Gov (Executive Offices, CA Senate, and CA Assembly). Endorsed by the OC GOP (Republican Party of OC), Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc, and many more.
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 64th Dist:
Recommendation: NO RECOMMENDATION
COMMENTS: Incumbent Democrat Blanca Pacheco is unopposed
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 67th Dist
(covers Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton West, La Palma)
Recommendation: PAULO MORALES (R)
COMMENTS: The only R in this race is PAULO MORALES, who is a newly registered Republican. He stated he was a Democrat his whole life, but felt “the party left me”. He is a former Cypress Mayor and retired Cypress Police officer. A conservative advisor from Cypress expressed Morales votes on City Council were w/other conservatives on CC. Based on this information, I feel adequately comfortable to recommend him. I appreciate the courage it took to leave the DEM party and recognize how LEFT it has become.
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 68th Dist
(covers Anaheim, Orange, and Santa Ana)
Recommendation: NO RECOMMENDATION, just information.
COMMENTS: 3 Democrats candidates here. No Republican. The 2 viable ones are 1) Santa Ana City Councilwoman, JESSIE LOPEZ (who , so far has garnered most of the liberal “labor” endorsements, and 2 very progressive groups, “Courage CA” and the “Working Family Party”. The other D candidate, DAVID PENALOZA, who is also a Santa Ana City Councilmember, has the endorsement of incumbent, Avelina Valencia. Valencia is said to be a more “moderate” Democrat. Therefore, if this were my district, with this info, I would vote for PENALOZA, over the more extreme LEFT Lopez.
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 70th Dist
(covers Los Alamitos, Stanton, Westminster, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, parts of Santa Ana)
Recommendation: TRI TA (R)
Comments: Incumbent TRI TA won this seat in Nov 2022, after having served as mayor of Westminster. An immigrant from Vietnam, he is endorsed by the OC Republican Party, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc, and many others Republican office holders.
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 71st Dist
(covers Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, unincorporated areas of Las Flores, Coto De Caza, Trabuco Canyon, Dove Canyon). THIS IS MY DISTRICT.
Recommendation: “KATE” KATHRYN SANCHEZ (R)
Comments: A solid Conservative Republican incumbent, who has done a good job in our DEM-Led TRIFECTA CA Government and deserves to be re-elected. She is endorsed by OC GOP (Republican Party), conservative CA Republican Assembly, Carl De Maio’s REFORM CALIFORNIA, Conservative Craig Huey’s Election Forum, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc,, and lots of Conservative Republican Elected Officials.
CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 72nd Dist
Recommendation: GRACEY VAN DER MARK (R)
COMMENTS: To follow
